General Curriculum Intent:
In Physical Education, we are passionate about every student reaching or exceeding their sporting potential, and going on to be lifelong participant in sport or physical activity. We strive to provide a wide-ranging PE curriculum in order to enable all students to find an activity that they are passionate about. In order to develop sporting excellence, students have the opportunity to participate in local, county and national competitions, and we have had a phenomenal amount of team success in recent years, such as National Futsal Champions, County Football Champions, County Cricket Champions, District Table Tennis Champions to name a few. We also have a number of individual sporting successes, National Judo champions, National Horse-riding champions, County Boxing champions, as well as County qualifiers for Cross-Country, Athletics and Swimming.
Aside from sporting excellence, we also value effort, endeavour and resilience, and encourage each and every student to be the best that they can be in all aspects of Physical Education. To this end, all students are welcome to attend our wide ranging extra-curricular provision. The examination courses offered to Key Stage 4 students are AQA GCSE PE, BTEC SPORT (Pearson - final entries in 2023), and Cambridge Nationals in Sport Studies. Details of these courses can be found by following the links below.
