On Monday 16th February 2026, St Michael’s in Billingham proudly celebrated the accomplishments of pupils who achieved their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Awards. The school hall was filled with families, supporters and staff, creating an uplifting atmosphere that showcased student talent, music and a strong sense of community pride.

The evening was hosted by Mrs Hunter, Mr Conroy, and special guest Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson. Her words of encouragement highlighted how the Duke of Edinburgh Award helps young people develop independence, resilience and meaningful relationships—skills she said would benefit them well beyond their school years.

Award recipient Jessica reflected on her journey, sharing: “The DofE experience really taught me independence and to develop personally.” Her sentiment captured the spirit of the programme and the growth experienced by so many pupils.

St Michael’s congratulates all participants for their dedication, teamwork and determination as they completed each part of the award. The school looks forward to seeing many continue on to the Silver Award and beyond.
