Since picking up darts in July last year, Ben in Year 10 has made extraordinary progress, quickly establishing himself as one to watch in the competitive darts scene. In less than a year, he has gone from beginner to a serious contender, demonstrating not only natural talent but also impressive dedication and focus.

Ben currently competes in the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) Volt system, where he is taking part in Series 5. His performances have been nothing short of outstanding - winning 14 titles from just 16 events entered, alongside a runner-up finish and a semi-final appearance. These results place him firmly at the top of the JDC North Series 5 leaderboard.

His scoring ability has been particularly remarkable. Ben recently achieved a stunning 109.98 average in a final and has consistently recorded averages above 90 in recent competitions. Across different formats, he has also found success, winning four events in the Amateur Darts Circuit (ADC) Vault series.

Ben’s matches are packed with highlights. He has produced multiple 11, 12, and 13-dart legs and was the only player to hit an 11-darter at a recent JDC Foundation Tour event in Ellesmere Port. At that same national-level event - featuring over 200 players - he achieved the highest checkout and finished an impressive 12th out of 242 competitors.

Under pressure, Ben continues to shine. He has delivered several ‘big fish’ (170) checkouts, along with high finishes such as 117 and 140 to secure match wins - including one against a Modus Super Series player. He has also recorded 100+ averages across knockout stages, showing his ability to perform when it matters most.

Representing Cleveland County, Ben was awarded Man of the Match for achieving the highest average (91). He has even stepped up to face professional opposition, taking a leg from Ryan Joyce - a significant milestone in his development.

Known for explosive scoring bursts, Ben has produced legs that begin with back-to-back 140s, underlining his scoring power. He continues to train with St Mary’s Darts Academy in Hartlepool and Billingham, where he is refining his technique and pushing his game to new levels. His growing reputation has also earned him support from Ruthless Darts, highlighting the recognition he is gaining within the sport.

This weekend, Ben competes in regional finals with the goal of qualifying for Gibraltar, where he hopes to take part in the JDC World Championships.

With such rapid progress and consistently high-level performances, Ben is beginning to attract wider attention in the darts community. His journey so far has been exceptional - and this is only the beginning.
