Today, a group of our enthusiastic students took part in Sports Leaders Training here at St Michael’s Catholic Academy, Billingham, delivered by Lisa and Rose from the Stockton School Sport Partnership.
Developing Future Sports Leaders
The session began with students exploring what makes an effective sports leader, including the key qualities, communication skills, and teamwork needed to support others in physical activity.
Our pupils then moved into practical activities—testing out fun, engaging tasks they’ll be able to use when leading future sports events. They even had the chance to deliver these activities to their peers, building confidence and leadership experience in a supportive environment.
Building Confidence, Skills, and Experience
It was a fantastic afternoon filled with hands‑on learning and real opportunities for students to grow. The training has prepared them to lead sessions both within school and alongside the Stockton School Sport Partnership, helping them become positive role models for younger pupils.
Thank You, Stockton School Sport Partnership!
A huge thank you to Lisa and Rose for your expert guidance and for helping develop our students’ leadership skills. Your support makes a real difference, and we had a brilliant time working with you.
