Year 9 at St. Michael’s Catholic Academy in Billingham enjoyed an action‑packed day of excitement, courage and plenty of laughter during our brilliant event, “I’m a Y9… Get Me Out of Here!”

Inspired by challenge‑style adventure shows, the event brought together the entire year group for a mix of eating trials, fast‑paced competitions and surprise tasks that kept everyone on their toes. The atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish as students cheered each other on and faced each challenge with determination - and in some cases, hilarious reactions.

Brave Staff and Students Lead the Way

One of the highlights of the day was seeing both form tutors and students step up to take part in the most daring challenges. Their enthusiasm set the tone for the whole event, encouraging others to get involved and helping create a fun, supportive environment.

Whether it was tackling an eating challenge, shouting encouragement from the sidelines or just enjoying the spectacle, every student played a part in making the day memorable. The energy, teamwork and willingness to try something new made this a standout moment in the Year 9 calendar.
