Today’s RE Enrichment session at St Michael’s Catholic Academy in Billingham took students on a delicious journey through culture, celebration and faith!

Pupils explored the foods enjoyed during a variety of religious festivals, discovering the meaning behind each tradition. They sampled dates, commonly eaten to break the fast during Ramadan; apples dipped in honey, which symbolise hope for a sweet year ahead during Rosh Hashanah; and festive treats such as chakli, enjoyed as part of Diwali celebrations.

It was a memorable session that encouraged students to experience faith through taste, curiosity and conversation. A wonderful way to deepen understanding and appreciate the diverse traditions that shape communities around the world!
