Building Confidence and Communication Skills

A group of Year 10 students at St Michael’s Catholic Academy recently took part in a Speak Out Challenge Workshop, designed to develop confident and effective communication.

Throughout the session, students explored and practised key skills including:

  • Oracy and public speaking
  • Clear and structured communication
  • Engaging an audience
  • Presenting with confidence

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, build self-belief, and express their ideas with clarity.

Developing Skills for Life

These skills are essential not only for success in school but also for future education, careers, and everyday life. Students showed excellent enthusiasm and commitment throughout, embracing the challenge and supporting one another.

Staff are incredibly proud of all who took part and look forward to seeing these skills continue to grow across the curriculum and within the wider school community.
