St. Michael’s has recently developed a new house system based on the 4 Gospel writers: Matthew (Angels), Mark (Lions), Luke (Bulls), John (Eagles) with each sending Christ’s message to the world.
The intention of having a vibrant and active house system is to encourage wider participation, competition and celebrating success. The house system is applied to a wide range of activities in school life. Pupils from each house are awarded points during ‘What Went Well Wednesdays’ and a leader board is updated every Thursday to recognise pupil achievements via Class Chart points accrued over the week.
At the end of the academic year, a trophy is presented to the successful house who have attained the most points, and another is presented to the best performing house after sports day. Each house is also led by 2 members of SLT, and each form group is assigned a house.
