The student leadership model consists of three new council areas based upon how pupils academically and personally thrive, how pupils feel a sense of belonging in school and how pupils flourish and aim to achieve no matter what!

Each of the three groups will be chaired by two Year 11 leaders. With 37pupils being accepted onto the leadership team having personally applied for the role and having gone through a formal interview.

Within each meeting pupils will plan events to take place each half-term. (See example below) and respective of their council.

The joint council meeting will also be held on a termly basis. This will include two Year 10representatives from each of the three councils and with all Year 11 leaders present. Dependent on the events, this might also involve the whole assembly of leaders.

  • Each council has a clear identity, and a colour coordinated tie for every leader to wear. In addition, all three councils have a bible quote and an inspiring Church message linked to the special work carried out in each council.

  • Each council will also have a half-termly task to plan and implement.

  • Each meeting will be chaired by a nominated leader, minutes will betaken and an action plan and evaluation form created at the start and end of each planning session.

  • The decisions made at every meeting will be guided by the Holy Spirit and the school prayer is to be recited before each meeting followed by the council motto from scripture.
