Students at St Michael's Catholic Academy recently enjoyed a special Year 7 Catholic retreat at the beach, centred around the theme "On the Rock."
Inspired by the teachings of Jesus and the importance of building life on strong foundations, the retreat provided pupils with an opportunity to deepen their faith while spending time together in a beautiful natural setting.
Reflecting on Strong Foundations
Throughout the day, students took part in prayer and reflection activities that encouraged them to think about the values that guide their lives and help them grow as individuals.
The theme of building on rock prompted pupils to consider how faith, relationships and positive choices can provide a firm foundation for the future.
Creativity Inspired by Nature
Students also enjoyed expressing their reflections through creative activities, using rocks and natural materials found along the beach to create meaningful pieces of artwork.
The activity encouraged pupils to combine faith, creativity and reflection while appreciating the beauty of the natural world.
A Memorable Day of Faith and Community
The retreat offered a valuable opportunity for Year 7 students to strengthen friendships, reflect on their faith and enjoy learning beyond the classroom.
Staff were delighted with the maturity and enthusiasm shown throughout the day, making it a memorable experience filled with faith, creativity, reflection and fun.
