Tasting Tradition: RE Enrichment Brings Learning to Life
Today’s RE Enrichment session at St Michael’s Catholic Academy in Billingham took students on a delicious journey through culture, celebration and faith! Pupils explored the foods enjoyed during a variety of religious festivals, discovering the meaning behind each tradition. They sampled dates, commonly eaten to break the fast during Ramadan; apples dipped in honey, which symbolise hope for a sweet year ahead during Rosh Hashanah; and festive treats such as chakli, enjoyed as part of Diwali celebrations.
