Maths in Every Subject

Students at St Michael’s Catholic Academy in Billingham enjoyed an energetic and exciting World Maths Day, celebrating how maths connects to learning across the entire curriculum.

Maths in Action

Throughout the day, pupils explored maths in creative and unexpected ways, including:

  • Using maps and scale in Geography
  • Cracking historical ciphers in History
  • Investigating shape, pattern and perspective in Art

These activities helped students see how mathematical thinking supports problem‑solving, creativity and understanding in every subject.

A Day Full of Energy and Challenge

The school was buzzing with activity as students embraced the challenges and enjoyed applying their maths skills in real‑world contexts. It was a brilliant way to highlight the importance and versatility of mathematics.
