Year 10 students at St Michael's Catholic Academy in Billingham recently demonstrated confidence and courage as they took part in the Speak Out Challenge.

The programme focused on developing students' oracy skills, helping them become more effective and confident communicators.

Building Confidence Through Public Speaking

The challenge encouraged pupils to express their ideas clearly, share their opinions and develop the confidence to speak in front of others.

Through a series of activities and opportunities to present their thoughts, students strengthened their communication skills in a supportive environment.

Developing Essential Life Skills

Strong speaking and listening skills are valuable in education, future careers and everyday life.

By taking part in the Speak Out Challenge, students were able to practise articulating their ideas, engaging an audience and communicating with confidence and clarity.

A Fantastic Achievement

Staff were incredibly proud of the way Year 10 students embraced the challenge and stepped outside their comfort zones.

Their enthusiasm, determination and willingness to participate made the event a great success and highlighted the confidence and potential within the year group.

Congratulations to all of the students who took part and represented St Michael's Catholic Academy so well.
