Last week, St. Michael’s Catholic Academy welcomed our partner school, English Martyrs, for a joint rugby training session and match involving Year 8 and 9 students. This collaboration was a fantastic opportunity to develop skills, teamwork, and confidence on the pitch.

Over 25 boys took part in the session, which was expertly delivered by our rugby coach, Colin. The training focused on core techniques, game strategies, and building resilience - essential qualities for success in rugby. After the drills, students put their learning into practice during a friendly match, showcasing determination and sportsmanship throughout.

This event wasn’t just about competition; it was about fostering friendships, sharing knowledge, and encouraging a love of sport. Our boys have worked incredibly hard in training since the start of the year, and it was brilliant to see their efforts pay off in such a positive environment.

We look forward to hosting more fixtures and joint sessions in the New Year as we continue to promote physical activity and teamwork at St. Michael’s.
