A group of our Year 10 students recently attended the inaugural Tees Skills Careers Fair at Riverside Stadium - a fantastic opportunity to explore future pathways and connect with employers across the region. This event was designed to give young people a deeper understanding of the local labour market and inspire them to think about their next steps.
Throughout the day, students visited a wide range of stalls hosted by colleges, training providers, and employers, all showcasing opportunities available in Teesside. From apprenticeships to higher education routes, the fair offered something for everyone.
In addition to exploring the stalls, our students attended four inspiring employer talks, including sessions with Rachel Burke (Teesside Businesswoman of the Year 2025), Outrank (a leading digital marketing agency), Technip Industries, and Teesside Freeport. These talks provided valuable insights into different industries and highlighted the skills and qualities employers are looking for.
Our students represented St Michael’s brilliantly - asking thoughtful questions, engaging with presenters, and leaving the event feeling informed and excited about their future careers.
Events like this are an important part of our careers programme, helping students make informed decisions and broaden their horizons. We’re proud to support them every step of the way.
